Description
The Breech Base Twistlock has been designed and developed to securely lock any ISO shipping container from the bottom. The locking mechanism can have either a left or right locking configuration. These twistlocks are vibration and storm resistant to ensure a securely fastened container during voyage.
This twistlock is very similar to a Dovetail twistlock as it is only suitable for securing and locking containers at the bottom connection corner castings.
The Breech twistlock is often used where space is limited, this normally happens when another container has already been placed directly next to it. The Breech twistlock must be used in conjunction with a Breech base deck socket so that it can be securely locked. In some cases there may be a recess in the ships deck that can be used to secure the twistlock.
You can also interchange the position of the twistlock as it can be used in four different directions. This can be very useful when stacking containers in different orientations especially on inland waterways.
