The semi-automatic twist lock is used to secure two containers together. When two containers are place on each other the semi-automatic twist lock closes automatically because of the weight. The breaking load is 50 tons.

Primary purpose is to automatically lock containers together while stacking on container ships

Semi-automatic Twist Lock–Single Toggle

The Semi-automatic Twist Lock can be pre-loaded and will shut automatically when a container is placed on them. These twist locks are also rated and marked for a 10 ton lifting capacity.

Load rated for lifting purposes. Allows you to top lift double stacked empty containers.

This unit is currently widely used by the shipping industry to secure containers on ships.

The Semi-automatic twist lock single toggle offers automatic locking when the top container is landed on the bottom container. This product offers the user a safer option to stack containers long term. The Semi-automatic twist lock single toggle offers a faster and more cost-effective alternative. No access is required to engage each unit.

It is intradiscally safe in that its fail-safe position is in the locked position.

Semi-automatic Twist Lock Single Toggle Installation procedure: (Prior to mounting the container)

The unit is normally inserted into the bottom corner casting by inserting the YELLOW tab into the corner casting and twisting the body so that the twist lock body engages with the hole in the corner casting. The YELLOW tab will spring into the locked position.

After installing the 4 semi-automatic twist locks, lift and lower the container into position. The 4 twist locks will automatically engage and lock into the top corner castings of the bottom container.

Lock the twist lock into the locked and position. Pull the pull-tab on each semi-automatic twist lock to remove the top container. Lift the top container off the bottom container. Remove the semi-automatic twist lock by turning the bottom (Silver) arrowhead until the twist lock falls out of the corner casting. Only do this once the container has been lowered near to ground level.
